Bollywood star Varun Dhawan who is currently in Arunachal Pradesh, shooting for his film ‘Bhediya’, brought his philanthropic side to the fro as he reached out to victims of a recent tragedy in the area.

Two persons, including a five-year-old girl, were burnt to death and 143 thatched houses were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a village in the Tirap district on Thursday. Hearing about the same, Varun and his wife, Natasha Dalal offered monetary aid to the people of the village by donating Rs 1 lakh, it was reported.

Photos of the Mr and Mrs Dhawan with Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Somcha Lowang have since been doing the rounds on social media. The thoughtful gesture had fans singing praise of the actor and thanking him for his kind deed.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred at Longliang village, and no fire tenders aid in relief efforts due to the remote location of the hamlet. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

“An elderly person, who was bedridden, and a girl were charred to death. The deceased have not been identified,” officials said in a statement to PTI.

On the work front, Varun will be seen delving into the mythical genre for the first time with this film. The actor is set to play a werewolf in the film that will also star Kriti Sanon as the female lead.

While Varun headed out to the sets last month, wifey Natasha joined him a few weeks ago. Since then, the two have been playing the perfect newlyweds and exploring the place together. Whether going on boat rides or visiting local shrines, going on walks to the forests, these two have been making the most of their time together.
