Riyan Parag hit 42 off 26 and Rahul Tewatia 45 off 28 to take Rajasthan Royals to a come-from-behind victory against SunRisers Hyderabad in the final over of the match. Chasing 159 to win, RR lost their star-studded top three of the returning Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and skipper Steven Smith inside the first five overs. Robin Uthappa and Sanju Samson were trapped by Rashid Khan to leave RR struggling at 78/5 in 12 overs. But an 85-run unbeaten stand between Parag and Tewatia turned the game on its head and took RR to a win that looked improbable for a long time. Earlier, SRH won the toss and batted. Helped by Manish Pandey’s 54 and David Warner’s 48 they scored 158/4. Both teams bowled well for a majority of their respective innings but Tewatia and Parag kept their nerves to take the game deep and emerged triumphant in the final two overs. (SCORECARD)

    Tewatia, you beauty!

Natarajan goes for another yorker and Tewatia gets down on one knee and lap sweeps it over fine leg for six.

150 is up for RR and they now need 9 off 7. What a turnaround this has been!

  • 19:06 (IST)

Beats the man in the ring, does Tewatia, and gets another four. He makes room and steps outside his leg stump, Natarajan follows him and bowls outside leg, but it’s a low full toss.

Tewatia pierces the gap between mid-off and covers for four.

  • 19:01 (IST)

Tewatia is hammering Rashid! Would you believe it?

Another switch hit for four on the next and then a blazing uppish cover drive for another four.

A hat-trick of fours by Tewatia and Warner is in a huddle with Rashid.

  • 18:59 (IST)

    Brilliant by Tewatia!

He brings out the switch hit, getting into position early thereby forcing Rashid to change his lines. Rashid bowls a full toss and Tewatia hit it over fine leg and short square for four.

He gets across his stumps and scoops a full ball from Sandeep over the ‘keeper’s head for another four.

  • 18:56 (IST)

Sandeep goes short and wide outside off and Parag slaps it powerfully over covers and finds the gap between long-on and deep point.

  • 18:53 (IST)

RR are getting the shots going for them now.

  • 18:52 (IST)

100 comes up for RR as Parag gets hold of one and deposits it over mid-wicket for six.

This was short again from Khaleel and Parag made room for himself and smashed it long and hard for a maximum.

55 needed off the last four overs.

  • 18:50 (IST)

Parag looks to hoick this short ball from Khaleel over the leg side but only manages a top edge on the ball.

The ball skies up even as Abhishek Sharma comes running in from the mid-wicket fence. He reaches under the ball but it bursts through his hands.

Parag has some luck going for him but he needs to connect his big hits as well.

  • 18:45 (IST)

RR need 13 runs an over from here

Natarajan nails his yorkers as Rajasthan are left to get 65 in the last five overs.

One of the two batsmen at the crease need to start taking risks now.

  • 18:38 (IST)

    It’s getting tough for Rajasthan

Tewatia and Parag are taking their time, setting up a launchpad for the last five, but they risk leaving too much to do in the final overs.

RR need 71 runs off the last six overs.

  • 18:27 (IST)

    WICKET! Samson c Bairstow b Rashid 26 (25)

Rashid strikes again! Samson is out!

This was the conventional leg spinner that was full in length. Samson was drawn forward into his drive even as the ball spun away from him, took his outside edge and landed in the ‘keeper’s gloves.

    RR in big trouble now.

  • 18:26 (IST)

Rashid chokes RR in middle overs

Rashid fires one down the leg side as the googly gets awry and runs down fine leg.

Khaleel puts in an excellent effort at the rope to save the boundary.

The leg spinner has given away just 12 runs in his three overs and has got two wickets.

  • 18:21 (IST)

    Rajasthan need a partnership

RR don’t have many batsmen to follow, the asking rate is over nine an over and the boundaries have dried up. The onus is on Samson to take his team through.

  • 18:14 (IST)

    WICKET! Uthappa lbw b Rashid 18 (15)

  • 18:05 (IST)

    Rashid Khan into the attack!

Only five runs off Rashid’s first over as he bamboozles the batsmen with his variations.

Samson has failed to read googlies in the past and Rashid knows that. He beats the batsman twice with the wrong one.

  • 18:00 (IST)

He pulls one short ball through backward square for four and then makes room to slap one through the covers for another four.

  • 17:53 (IST)

    SIX! FOUR!

Uthappa gives a counter punch by hooking Khaleel’s short ball over square leg for six.

    RR need to rebuild now.

A top off the last ball of the fifth over also fetches Uthappa a boundary as 10 runs come off the over.

  • 17:49 (IST)

    WICKET! Jos Buttler c Bairstow b Khaleel 16 (13)

A beautiful in swinger from Khaleel gets the better of Buttler.

This is disaster for RR. They have lost their top three inside the first four overs.

The ball from Khaleel came back in to Buttler after pitching and took the inside edge as Bairstow takes a good diving catch behind the stumps.

  • 17:48 (IST)

WICKET! Steve Smith run out (Natarajan) 5 (6)

Another wicket! And it’s a run out. Would you believe it?

Smith takes a risk for quick brace and perishes in the process.

Buttler and Smith took a single as the ball was hit by the Englishman to deep mid-wicket but the second one wasn’t just on.

Smith fell a long way short of his crease at the non-striker’s end as the throw came in flat and hard right over the stumps.

  • 17:44 (IST)

    FOUR! SIX!

Shot! That went likea tracer bullet!

Natarajan bowls a bouncer and Buttler quickly rocks back and pulls it fiercely through mid-wicket for four.

The bowler goes short again and outside leg stump on the next ball and Buttler hammers it for a flat six over square leg.

  • 17:40 (IST)

SRH keep it tight in the Powerplay

Learning from their opponents, SRH too have bowled well in the Powerplay.

They have kept Buttler and Smith quiet by bowling to their fields.

  • 17:32 (IST)

    WICKET! Stokes b Khaleel 5 (6)

    Khaleel Ahmed gets Ben Stokes!

This was a good-length ball outside off. Stokes looks to to play across the line and hit it towards the on side but gets an inside edge on to his stumps.

This is a huge wicket for SRH first up.

  • 17:28 (IST)

Stokes gets his first runs in IPL 2020 with a boundary through long-on.

This was a good-length ball from Sandeep, and Stokes charges down the wicket and thumps it over long-on.

  • 17:25 (IST)

    We’re back for Rajasthan’s reply

Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, the two superstars from England, will open the batting for RR.

Sandeep Sharma will bowl the first over.

  • 17:10 (IST)

    SRH 158/4 in 20 overs

Garg attempts to run a brace on the final ball but gets only one. He gets run out for 15 off 8 as SRH finish 158/4 in their 20 overs.

This looks like a under-par score, but batting second has been difficult this IPL season.

Stay tuned for the Rajasthan reply.

  • 17:09 (IST)

Unadkat bowls a short slower ball and Garg plays it beautifully over the head of short fine leg.

Despite Riyan Parag throwing himself at the boundary, the ball trickles away for four.

  • 17:05 (IST)

Garg gets a big hit as he smashes a slower one by Unadkat for a six over mid-wicket to begin the final over well.

    150 up for SRH!

  • 17:04 (IST)

Only a single came off the free hit but Williamson finished the over well by pulling a short ball from Archer over square leg for a six.

SRH are 142/3 in 19 overs. Can they get to 160?
