Britney Spears’ legal team to file court papers to terminate singer’s 13-year conservatorship – Reports | English Movie News

Britney Spears is reportedly set to file legal documents requesting to end her 13-year-long conservatorship.

According to a report on JustJared.com, Samuel D. Ingham III, the court-appointed lawyer for the pop icon, has prepared legal documents to terminate the conservatorship. The same has reportedly been confirmed by members of various media outlets on and off social media.

A tweet by US Weekly justice editor claimed that “Sources have confirmed to @usweekly that #BritneySpears and her lawyer just filed a petition to terminate her conservatorship. At the end of business day, the petition had not been filed, but sources said the termination paperwork has been prepared.”

It was noted that entertainment portals including TMZ and Page Six briefly published reports about the developments of the #FreeBritney movement and stated that the paperwork had been filed. However, fans pointed out that the reports were later removed.

Another post claimed that the paperwork was done and ready for the court, but was not formally processed by the time the courthouse closed.

The developments come after Britney explosive testimony at a court hearing calling to an end to her ‘abusive’ conservatorship. The mother of two said that the conservatorship had left her “traumatized” and “depressed.”

“I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane,” she said, adding that she cries every day.

“I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I want changes, I deserve changes,” Spears pleaded to Judge Brenda Penny.

Amidst the frenzy, Britney took to Instagram to ask fans and the paparazzi for some privacy. The pop star posted a video expressing her frustration over the public and media glare while on holiday in Maui, Hawaii.

“So being here in Maui is pretty crazy now … the paps know where I am and it’s really not fun !!!! It’s pretty hard going anywhere cause these silly faces keep popping up to take my picture. But not only do they take my picture… they distort my body and mess with the image and it’s embarrassing!!!!! I know my body is not perfect but I definitely do NOT look like how they portray me. It’s rude and it’s mean so paps kindly F–K YOU AND F–K OFF!!!!”

She went on to add her list of “DOS AND DONTS” and said, “If you are a pap, fan, or anyone in my space…Don’t talk to me while I’m texting. It’s rude… This is my body!!! So stop messing with my pics and editing them to the point where it’s embarrassing!”

“This is what fans and paps should be doing instead!” she added while sharing visuals of a Pride parade.
