Bihar government moves SC to oppose Rhea’s petition for transferring FIR | Hindi Movie News

Patna: In a major development, Bihar government has moved Supreme Court to oppose Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s plea of transferring of FIR lodged in Patna to Mumbai and staying of the investigation being conducted by Patna police in Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.

Along with the state government, Sushant’s family has also moved apex court to oppose the petition filed by Rhea.

FIR against Rhea, her family members and her known associates were registered with Rajiv Nagar police station on July 25 on basis of Sushant’s father KK Singh’s written complaint.

Lalit Kishore, who is advocate general of the state government, confirmed TOI over phone that state government has filed caveat in Supreme Court and will oppose Rhea’s petition.

“Senior Supreme court advocate Mukul Rohtagi would appear for Bihar government in case whenever it gets listed for hearing,” Kishore said.

“We have moved the apex court on grounds that FIR had been registered correctly and state government has jurisdiction and power to investigate the case,” Kishore added. Rohtagi was earlier also former attorney general of central government.

Meanwhile, senior Supreme Court advocate Vikash Singh representing Sushant’s family, when asked, told TOI over phone that they have also moved Supreme Court on grounds that Rhea had herself asked for CBI inquiry in the case.

“When she doesn’t believes in Mumbai police’s investigation then why now she wants to get the FIR transferred there from Patna. Police in Mumbai had not even lodged an FIR yet in the case,” Singh added.
