Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire‘ , which was considered as one of the iconic films of all time, which revolved around the story of a boy from the Mumbai slums of Dharavi, who goes on to win the quiz show ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’. But did you know, before Anil Kapoor went on to portray the role of the quiz master, Shah Rukh Khan was approached for the role, but the superstar had declined the offer.

On being asked the reason behind rejecting the offer, the actor is in a throwback video revealed in a chat show that he loved the script but did not say yes to the project owing to a personal reason. “I didn’t do it because the host is a little bit of a cheat, and he was a little mean, and I’d already done the show so I felt if I do it people will feel I do the same thing. It was a great film,” he said.

Back in 2007, Shah Rukh Khan hosted one of the seasons of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati?’- the Indian version of the popular quiz show, which initially is hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

Apart from starring Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ also marked the debut of Dev Patel and also starred Frieda Pinto. Back in 2008, the film won an Oscar in the ‘Best Film’ category.
